Tuong Tong Quarry

I’d heard about a sweet little lake where you could jump off the shear cliffs into cool refreshing water nearby Chaing Mai.  So on the first weekend available, Kate and I headed out to discover this spot, which turned out to be an abandoned Quarry that is filled with water.  We rented a motorbike and set out right after a light breakfast! 11am is an early start right?  Island motorbiking is a little different and way more laid back than this city stuff. We carefully navigated through the light traffic in Chaing Mai before we got onto the freeways!
WooHoo!!! You haven’t lived until you’ve clung to a rickity old motorbike speeding down a concrete highway buzzing along at 95km. Getting blown around by the concrete trucks and semi’s as they pass you only to split lanes at the stop light and get to the front of the pack to start the cycle all over again.  Yea it was a long 30 minutes.  Eventually we got the hang of it.

The cliffs did not disappoint, it was a great place for people to come hang out and enjoy the sun!  No one was at the cliffs when we first arrived, but we were hungry and need to recharge at the nice restraint over looking the quarry.  After lunch there was about 30 farangs hanging out on the cliffs and jumping and around.  We found ourself a spot and hung out for a few hours splashing around and jumping in!

Check out the pics!

Also here's how to get there if you're ever in Chaing Mai!
