Day 3: Hoover Dam, Mead Lake, and Vegas

Vegas: A lot more than just bright lights and strippers! Post June 4 2013:

Waking up to the rising sun on the outskirts of Death Valley gets you motivated to beat the impending heat.  With Temps in the low triple digit teens we got on the road and headed towards Sin City in search of… A Library! Gotta keep up with the outside world :) AND updating the blog!  After catching up on emails and HexFlex happenings Kate and I set  out for Hoover Dam.  This hydro damn is pretty dang colossal! Lake Meade was next on the list to cool off from the Nevada Heat!  It was a little disappointing, but we got in and made the best of it.  After catching up with an old Friend for dinner we wound up on Fremont Street (Old Vegas) taking in all of the neon lights and sights.  Somehow we ended up searching for a campsite at 11pm with options depleteing and in desperation ended up camping in another pullout on the side of the highway.
